“C# WPF Development Manager – VP Level” based in Singapore with a top tier Investment Bank.

Main Function:
The MOTIF project aims to build a Global Finance Platform that standardizes and integrates the daily and the monthly finance processes, providing a common view and query on the underlying data.

This role is for a C#/WPF development manager of a key work stream in Motif who will lead a team of developers in the delivery of the functionalities required by the work stream. Key technologies involved in this work stream are C# WPF and TIBCO BE.

Technical Responsibilities:

You will…
• Actively participate in technical design discussions with architects and peer development managers, and drive solutions to the wider MOTIF development teams.
• Review existing MOTIF software, identify quality gaps and create roadmap to their closures.
• Oversee the design of C# components and TIBCO BE services to satisfy business requirements.
• Work with project manager and peer development managers in the production of work packets for development.
• Take technical ownership of the MOTIF technology set for the local development team, and liaise with platform support teams in driving short and long term changes.
• Oversee daily operations and resource allocation within the development team.
• Liaise with peer development managers in Singapore/London in daily handoffs and receipts of work packets between London and Singapore.
• Own and review best practices artifacts; perform checks on an ongoing basis, and produce metrics to track quality.
• Enforce coding standards and project-defined best-practices on the team.
• Oversee the preparation of detailed unit test cases, execution of unit tests and documentation of results.
• Act as principal point of contact for platform related support during QA and UAT test phases.
• Training and knowledge transfer to support team when the time comes.
• Point of contact for support team, investigating and resolving post-release issues found in production.

Managerial Responsibilities:

You will…
• Act as line manager and technical team lead for the existing current Singapore MOTIF C#/rules team MOTIF DB team (6 persons - although this is likely to grow). These will include all line management responsibilities such as performance management and development.
• Act as primary point of contact for the Singapore C#/rules team.
• Deputise for overall Singapore Dev Mgr / PM as needed during periods of their absence.
• Communicate effectively with the other MOTIF development stream leads, the Data Services (DB) team and the local overall development manager/project managers.
• Work closely with development team members in London and Singapore - participating in and contributing to technical discussions.
• Work closely with the Risk & Finance Data Warehouse (RFDW) stream (a sister project) and other projects within the MOTIF space.
Experience Requirements:
You should have….
• 10+ years of experience with solid, proven track record of managing the delivery of a complex software solution in an investment bank.
• Experience of working within the Finance/Product Control areas within an Investment Bank.
• Strong C# WPF background and development skills.
• Experience of delivering to a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
• Experience of delivering to a messaging based platform.
• Experience leading a cross-functional development team of senior and junior developers.
• Software release management across a multi-site team.
• Experience of business rules engine products, preferably TIBCO BE.
• Experience working with Oracle Databases (ideally Oracle 10g or above).
• Knowledge of Business Process Modelling (BPM), ideally using Enterprise Architect would be advantageous
• Experience on at least one source control tool, preferably Perforce (or Clearcase).
• Experience of at least one middleware messaging technology.
