Main Function:
Design and develop high quality software for Business Continuity Management (BCM) using ASP.NET (C#), SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Reporting Services and SharePoint Server technologies. This role includes supporting and enhancing functionality of existing applications, and developing reports and interfaces to other upstream and downstream systems under the direction of an application engineer and project manager.
Main Duties:
Analysis and Design:
• To work together with the business analyst and application engineer to analyse requirements and changes, understand the impact to existing functions and interfaces, and produce accurate estimates.
• To translate functional specifications into system design that is scalable& maintainable.
• To produce technical specifications that are of high quality, incorporating industry standard methodologies like UML.
Build:
• Hands on design & development of ASP.NET web pages, C# classes, database procedures and reports.
• Ensuring code written meets the predefined organisation standards.
• Performance tuning to ensure acceptable application performance.
Testing:
• Preparation of detailed unit and SIT test cases.
• Execution of unit test and SIT and documentation of results.
• Providing support during the UAT test phases.
• Diagnosis and resolution of defects found during all phases of testing.
Quality Assurance:
• Comply with relevant processes and controls to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Rigorously document all system design, test evidence, change requests and release procedures and regularly update relevant knowledge bases.
Support:
• Provide training to 2nd line support team at relevant stages of the project.
• Act as point of contact for support requests escalated to the development team.
• Investigate and resolve post-release issues that surface in production.
Mandatory Skills:
• .NET Framework 3.0/3.5 (ASP.NET 2.0 and C#)
• SQL Server 2005/2008
• SQL Server Integration Services 2005/2008

• Office SharePoint Server 2007 (includes web service API)

• Database development on Oracle 10g and above

Finance IT develops applications and provides IT support to the bank’s Financial Control function. It's a global function, covering many different sites, across all business lines.
Transaction Database (TDB) is a global repository of Bank's trading activity.
