Department Overview:
Finance IT develops applications and provides IT support to the bank’s Financial Control function. It's a global function, covering many different sites, across all business lines.
Transaction Database (TDB) is a global repository of Bank's trading activity. SIMPLE is an application within TDB which reconciles trade and position information to the bank's operating ledgers (settlement systems) and provides this data to strategic downstream systems in Finance, Product Control, Risk, Front Office, Operations and Regulatory and Statutory reporting. It also provides information on reconciliation breaks.
This role is for an Oracle development manager of a key work stream in TDB who will lead a team of developers in the delivery of the functionalities as required under the work stream.
ROLE SUMMARY:
YOU Will…
• Actively engage external business and IT partners in the requirements analysis for system enhancements and changes.
• Actively participate in technical design discussions with peer development managers and developers.
• Conduct code reviews and providing constructive feedback.
• Perform checks on an on-going basis to ensure all deliveries follow the best practices process and artifacts.
• Enforce coding standards and project-defined best-practices on the team.
• Oversee the preparation and execution of test plan, and documentation of results.
• Act as principal point of contact for platform related support during QA and UAT test phases.
• Conduct delivery review.
• Point of contact for support team, investigating and resolving post-release issues found in production.
• Functional and technical responsibilities of all deliverables under the work stream.
• Project management responsibilities of all deliverables under the work stream.
• Line management responsibilities of developers based in Singapore.
• Communicate effectively with the other TDB work stream leads and the local development managers.
• Work closely with development team members based in London and Singapore.
Job Requirements:
Skills/Exp required (MUST):
• 12+ years of Solid proven track record of managing delivery of a mission-critical transaction processing application on an Oracle-based platform in an investment bank.
• Experience of working within the Finance/Product Control areas within an Investment Bank.
• Experience of managing a development team of 15+ developers in multiple locations in an investment bank environment.
• Software release management across a multi-site team.
• Strong Oracle design and development background on large 10g databases.
• Strong Unix background.
• Experience of enterprise scheduling tools, preferably Autosys.
• Familiar with using MS Project for project planning and tracking.
• Experience with Oracle performance tuning experience.
• Exposure to at least one source control tool, preferably Clearcase.
• Knowledge of software development ‘best practices’ and software development life cycle.
• Knowledge of project management methodology.
