"Java Team Lead (AVP)” based in Singapore with a top tier Investment Bank – Permanent position

Main Duties:
Design and deliver high quality Java code under direction of a development manager (VP) and a project manager (VP).

Delivers the functionality requested by the Development Manager.

The following is included:
- Create comprehensive project design documentation
- Deliver working code for the RFDW (Risk Finance Data Warehouse) Client Interface
- Provide a suite of automated unit tests representing a significant amount of code coverage
- Work with testing team and with test management tools (JIRA, etc.) to monitor and resolve software defects.
- Deliver on time and on target with exceptional quality
- Success will be measured by timely, high-quality delivery against the RFDW plan, and customer and stakeholder feedback
- Low level design of solution
- Ensure all code is adequately documented, and that all documentation is kept up-to date.
- Coding and unit testing of the solution
- Work with testers to verify the solution
- Rework defects and take part in defect analysis
- Continuously escalate any potential issues, road-blocks and risks and openly discuss any potential issues with the management team to enable early risk management and resource adjustment

Experience/Skills Required:
• 7+ years developing applications with expert-level Java
• 2+ years experience working in a Risk / Finance environment
• Experience with J2EE development (JMS especially)
• Experience working with MQ or TIBCO messaging products in a Java environment
• Working knowledge of SQL, stored procedures, database design, and optimization.
• Experience implementing Web Services
• Experience with various XML technologies (DOM, SAX, XPATH, etc.)
• Experience with UNIX commands, shell scripting, etc.
• Experience programming in a distributed environment
• Experience with multi-threaded programming
• Knowledge of common software development methodologies (XP, Agile, RUP, etc.)
• Experience with software release/build processes (e.g., Continuous Integration, etc.)
• Experience with C# and .NET a plus
• Clearcase (pref) or other enterprise source control tool.
• Experience with TIBCO Business Events a plus
• Oracle experience a plus
