The job will involve working with the front office to define detailed requirements of the planned trading products and working alongside the EM technical architects who design and build technical solutions.
Department Overview:
The Emerging Markets IT team provides support to the Emerging Markets business globally. The mandate is to support all products that the business trades, including (but not limited to): OTC interest rate derivatives, exchange traded interest rate derivatives, Bonds, Repos, FX, MM, credit derivatives, equities & commodities.
Main Function/Duties:
The candidate will be playing a critical role in building and defining documentation templates that supports traceability and effectively links requirements to testing and design. The templates will be used when rolling out the strategic architecture to all Asia Pacific Emerging Markets sites. The successful candidate will need to have Front Office trading systems experience and a good pricing and risk management knowledge.
The successful candidate will be expected to be able to discuss Emerging Market products in detail – exhibiting a good understanding of yield curve analytics and a thorough understanding of the full Front to Back trade flow processes.
The successful candidate will own the relationship with the users. This will include front office (trading and sales), market and credit risk, middle office, operations and other external third party/internal system owners. The candidate will be equally at ease discussing business and technical issues, and be able to contribute to finding solutions.
This is a 'hands on' role, requiring:
• Business analysis
• Clear, complete and accurate documentation of user requirements and functional specifications
• Definition of documentation templates that supports traceability to be re-used for the rollout to various emerging market sites
• Data modelling
• Contribution to physical design & data modelling (by liaising with technical architects to resolve functional questions)
• Running workshops to explain and walkthrough business requirements
• Define and deliver a test strategy, produce comprehensive and test plans and test scripts
• Execute system testing
• Plan and coordinate UAT activities
• Problem solving and responsibility for issue resolution
• Liaising with external resources (regulator, exchange and 3rd party vendors) to flash out business requirements
• Defining system interface requirements to other external systems
Experience required:
• Minimum of 5 years experience in Investment Banking preferably in Middle Office, Product Control or Projects
• Emerging markets experience preferred but not essential
• Demonstrable experience and knowledge of pricing, risk management and end to end process flows of Derivatives and Fixed Income products
• Analytical aptitude is essential
• Process driven
• Clear & concise verbal and written communication skills are a necessity
• Strong problem solving skills
• Attention to detail
• Experienced in taking responsibility for investigating, finding solutions and closing issues
• Previous experience working within IT environments or working on IT projects
