“Asia Pacific Risk & Finance Business Analyst – VP Level” based in Singapore with a top tier Investment Bank – Permanent position

Main Function:
The main function of this role is to provide Business Analysis for Asia-Pacific Risk, Finance and Enterprise Shared Services development teams. The role will cover business analysis functions across Credit Risk, Market Risk, Regulatory, Financial Control & Compliance projects as the need arises. The candidate will be responsible for gathering business requirements, producing functional specifications and helping the development teams throughout the SDLC phases. There may also be some aspects of project management required.

Responsibilities include:
- Participate in workshops/discussions to help business to define the business requirement
- Determine key business areas impacted by a proposed change and collect business requirements
- Review business requirements docs and provide feedback to business
- Work with business to finalise/sign-off business requirements
- Analyse the business requirements
- Work with business and IT teams to clarify issues/questions
- Develop functional specification documents based on the business analysis. This document will be used by developers to do the coding
- Perform testing as required. Help developers to perform unit, systems and integration testing
- Answer users’ questions/queries
- Help developers to resolve issues during development and UAT
- Provide user support during post go-live period

Application areas to cover:
- This role spans many different stakeholder groups in Risk, Finance and Compliance. This person will need understand how upstream changes impact the downstream corporate systems

Participate in the following management reviews:
- Project Review: Review the progress of the project against plan Provide proactive involvement with:
- Improving the team's Investment Banking capability through coaching, mentoring and training

Deliverables:
- Business Requirements Doc: work with Business to finalise the business requirements
- Functional Specification Doc: develop Functional Specification Document. This document will be used by developers to do the coding
- Test cases for internal IT testing - where applicable

Experience/Skills Required:
- 7-10 years experience in an investment banking environment

Skills and Knowledge:
Business:
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to quickly understand and articulate As-Is and To-Be systems and processes
- Understanding of front-to-back trading systems flows required
- Expertise in Finance, Credit Risk or Market Risk strongly preferred, expertise in traded products a plus

Technical:
- Proven experience in all phases of development life cycle
- Hands-on experience in querying the databases

Communication & Global Team:
- Must have good track record of communicating effectively with both business and IT staff at all levels
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work with global teams from a regional office

- Ability to reach out to business stakeholders and help define requirements where the brief is not detailed nor specific
- Ability to work under tight timelines
- Proven ability to work within a team environment
- Highly effective verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to make good/sound decisions and use independent judgment
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Outstanding presentation skills
- the ability to synthesize complex business requirements into concise presentations / documents
