Main Function
The role is global in nature, and has regionally aligned as well as global teams. Our aim is to maintain a robust and scalable equities technology platform by leveraging the existing technology as well as innovation to create a best in class equities technology infrastructure. As a senior developer in the client connectivity function, the candidates main responsibilities would include:
• Work with global teams, communicate, escalate issues on time
• Work closely with PM/BA and take ownership on deliverables related to building out both global infrastructure and AP client connectivity solutions for cash equities and derivatives
• Understanding global development structure / code share development and contribute to the global framework
• Ability to learn from code and be self driven
• Work within and across the group to deliver business needs
Main Duties
The role requires the completion of the following duties day to day:
• Interaction with business users, business analysts and other project/infrastructure teams.
• Front to Back analysis and coordination
• Assist in project planning and to take full ownership of deliverables
• Communication with Global Teams
• Development
• Unit and integration testing
• 3rd Line application support
Experience Required
• 7+ years Java development experience
• Understanding of n-tier application architecture
• Client facing web application development
• Understanding of application security principals
• Strong understanding of object oriented design / development
• 3+ years server side development experience
• Experience with order / execution management systems
• FIX Protocol experience
• Development experience in equities and/or futures front-office technology
• Asian stock and futures market knowledge
• Ability to delegate work within team, and across teams
Skills Required
• Java
• Object Oriented Programming
• Strong front end web application development skills [(X)HTML/Javascript/CSS]
• SQL development skills
• Database connectivity experience (JDBC: Oracle, Sybase, MSSQL)
• Understanding of multi threaded application development
• Experience with source control tools (e.g. CVS, SVN, ClearCase, Perforce)
• Experience with more than one IDE (e.g. eclipse, Intelli-J)
• Fluent communication in English
Skills Preferred
• Proven track record regarding development of front office trading platforms
• FIX Protocol 4.2+
• Web application web framework development skills (Struts/Spring)
• C++ skills
