Job Description - Sr. Test Manager – VP Level:

Main Function:
- Delivering test projects against functionality, schedule, cost and quality.
- People management of Testers and Test Managers.
- First level of escalation on projects managed by direct reports.
- Providing strategic direction and initiatives within testing domain.
- Recruitment and resource allocation.

Main Duties:
- Deliver testing functionality requested by the Business Sponsor.
This includes: - Liaison with the end customer during the requirements gathering and analysis phase. This may entail significant periods of travel
- Documenting the applications to the standards of the division
- Design of solution
- Estimation of effort, schedule and cost of the solution
- Test summary and defect report creation and dissemination
- Oversight to the department team during analysis, design, execution and delivery of the solution
- Assignment of test activities
- Verification of the solution

This is a hands on role and includes the following planning and tracking: Change requests, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, People, Communications, Project Risks
Line management of ~15 Test Analysts.
Lead Strategic Test Centre initiatives and competency development.

Provide proactive involvement with:
- Improving the Investment Banking capability of the division through coaching, mentoring and training
- Improving the testing capability of the division.
- Improving the defined Software Engineering Processes via the Software Engineering Process Group (SEPG)

Experience/Skills Required:
- ISEB Foundation Certification in Software Testing (or equivalent)
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in software engineering or related areas
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in successfully managing projects
- Experience of running a sizeable test team (30+)
- Experience working in an Investment Bank
- Experience across different types of testing e.g. Automation, Performance and Usability
- Experience with demanding customers in a time-pressured environment
- Experience of working in a global organization
- In depth knowledge of and proven track record in software testing lifecycle
- Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office trading concepts
- Knowledge of SEI Capability Maturity Model, (CMM)
- Knowledge of SEI Capability Maturity Model Integrated, (CMMI)
