Main Function:
The candidate is expected to design, develop, test and deliver Compliance solutions under the direction of an application engineer and project manager. He/she will build in-depth knowledge of both the technical and business aspects of the systems and become well-versed in the business functions supported by the systems. Working as part of the larger team would see the candidate share their expertise with other team members.
Additionally, the successful candidate will have soft skills to complement their hard-core technical skills. The candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of business analysis experience with an investment bank (ideally in a compliance function), strong communications (verbal and written) and documentation skills, good knowledge of SDLC and some understanding of IB products and the trade life cycle.
As well as project work, the candidate will be involved in explaining functionality to BFIT, Compliance and/or other system users. Second line support may be required for the parts of the system that are already in production which may involve direct interaction with same. The candidate will be expected to proactively improve their skills and take on greater responsibilities as their capabilities increase. Main Duties:
Delivers functionality requested by the Application Engineer (VP). The following is included:
- Low level design of solution
- Coding and unit testing
- Work with testers to verify solution
- Rework defects and take part in defect analysis
- Work closely with Business Facing IT
- Participate in architectural design, documentation and estimations.
Skills /Experience Required:
- Relevant university degree
- 7+ years development experience preferably in investment bank compliance IT
- 5+ years experience in SQL / PLSQL (Oracle) & Database design (Oracle)
- 2+ years experience Unix/Shell Scripting
- 3+ years experience Informatica
- 3+ years experience doing code reviews
- 2+ years experience as business or technical analyst (ideally in bank compliance IT)
- 2+ years experience SQL performance tuning
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- 3+ years developing or supporting trade surveillance or AML apps (ideally Mantas or Actimize).
- 2+ years experience Business Objects
- Basic Knowledge of trade life cycle, investment banking products and banking regulatory compliance
- Basic knowledge of batch scheduling tools and monitoring (Autosys)
