“MSSQL DBA – AVP Level” – Permanent role based in Singapore with top tier Investment Bank. Basic Salary upto SGD 100,000 + Bonus + Benefits.

Main Duties:
Production Support & Coverage:
• Performing major/high-criticality/complex Service Requests
• Resolving major problems (including vendor escalation when appropriate).
• Application of escalation and notification procedures for incidents.
• System monitoring.

Performance Measurement and Tuning:
• Capturing, monitoring, and understanding performance requirements and standards.
• Monitoring performance of major system components on a real-time and historical basis.
• Setting and monitoring performance objectives.

Technical Problem Solving/Analysis:
• Dealing with a variety of hardware, software, and communications malfunctions.
• Identifying business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of the required resolution.
• Use of advanced diagnostic techniques and tools for unusual or performance-related problems.
• Use of vendor-specific troubleshooting resources, facilities and services.

Person Requirements:
Essential:
7+yrs working as a production support DBA in large organisation with exposure to a global database setup.

Technical:
• Team leadership/project management
• MSSQL 2005 and 2008
• Windows 2003 & 2008 Advanced Server
• Windows Clustering
Non Technical:
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Good initiative
• Strong trouble-shooting and analytical skills

Preferred:
• Team management skills
• Investment banking experience
• Replication
• Mirroring
• SRDF
• SQL2008 new features
